No arrest has been made. Mayor James Robbins and Councilman Gary Compton declined to comment about the Monday incident. Compton did say he was not seriously injured, but his jaw was sore. District Attorney Reed Walters said he will present a complete investigative file to a grand jury. The grand jury will then decide what, if any charges, are filed, he said. Authorities said the incident happened Monday evening at Town Hall. Investigators did not release what sparked the scuffle. Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jeff Windham said the department received a request Tuesday from the District Attorney's Office to investigate a reported battery.
