Beat the NYC Heat
Sen. Chuck Schumer Suggests Friedrich models that save energy.
This may be true, but keep in mind
that you can only cool your room to 70 degrese, compared to other air conditioners that will do a better job cooling as low as 60 degrese, and cost much less.

That's easy to do since all Friedrich
models don't cool below 70 degrese, they should save energy and lots of it while you swelter.  It is necessary to utelize lower temperatures in southern states to rid the humidity that causes discomfort.

ASTHMA / INFASEMIA

Persons with lung disease may
suffer needlesly at 70 degrease
and even die much sooner than if they had adequate cooling. It is most inconsiderate of Friedrich to sell air conditioners to anyone without first telling the customer of it's unreasonable limitations on cooling.

Reason  For  This  Site

About a year ago, I bought two Friedrich heat pump air conditioners.  One was 24000 btu and the other 6000 btu.  The big one cost about $1500 and I had it shipped from New York to my home in Louisiana.  The smaller one was  about $600 and I had it shipped from California,  I  just had to have Fredrich's, nothing else would do.  Having had Friedrich's in the past, I knew first hand how good they were and how good they cooled.  You could easily drop the temperature to 60 degrese, which is what I need for my breathing problems.

I am almost 70 years old, have asthma and take 4 to 5 breathing treatments daily,  also am diabetic. I was trying to get all things in order for when the wife and I could retire.  We didn't get central cooling and heat as my room is required to be much cooler than the rest of the house.  We also may not be able to afford the electric bill on our very low Social Security checks.

We trusted Fredrich to sell us just what we needed in accordance with their long standing   reputation for being the best.  We have never been so disappointed as when we first turned on the air conditioners and they shut down the compressors at 70 degrese, the rooms were not cool as we expected and needed.

If you would like to see how we were able to get adequate cooling out of the Fredrich air conditioner in the bed room, see the picture below.  I will explain what is happening.

I took the front cover off, as is plain to see.  The bulb on the end of the insulated copper tubing is what sences the temperature and causes the thermostat to shut down the compressor at the selected cooling degre.

Since the thermostat shuts down the compressor at 70 degrese, it is necessary to keep the bulb warmer, thus the heating pad.  That's right, I rolled up a heating pad and inserted the feeler bulb into the heating pad, thus the compressor does not shut off.  The room is cooled to as low as 60 degrese on a hot Louisiana summer day.

See how easy it would be to fix the problem....!  Just make a thermostat with lower cooling before it turned off the compressor, like they used to be. They shouldn't have changed it in the first place as that is what SOLD the unit, good efficient low temp cooling.

WARNING!

To hear some tell it, April 23, 1985, was a day that will live in marketing infamy.

That firestorm ended with the return of the original formula, now called Coca-Cola classic®, a few months later. The return of original formula Coca-Cola on July 11, 1985, put the cap on 79 days that revolutionized the soft-drink industry, transformed The Coca-Cola Company and stands today as testimony to the power of taking intelligent risks, even when they don't quite work as intended.

The events of the spring and summer of '85 -- pundits blasting the "marketing blunder of the century," consumers hoarding the "old" Coke, calls of protests by the thousands -- changed forever The Coca-Cola Company's thinking.
When the announcement of the return of "old" Coca-Cola was made in July 1985,
